Finals will be the death of me....

So I've decided to camp out at school until Friday. I brought my toothbrush, sleeping bag, extra clothes and diet dr. peppers. I've been here for over 24 hours now, and thinking of going over to a friend's house to at least shower. I'm exhausted and I feel gross, pretty sure I smell too. Attractive! Well here is a little bit of what I was working on last night. Some ideations for my thesis...

Gamble House

Today, my friend Jessica and I went to go explore the Gamble House in Pasadena (designed by brothers Greene and Greene, 1908). I was thinking about incorporating wood into my senior thesis, so a professor recommended I check out this place for inspiration and a quick study on joinery and subtle details in wood. In his words, "Everything in this house was designed, all the way down to a nat's ass," and let me reassure you, this is very true. The conscious design decisions are transparent in every single part of the house and furniture with enough elegance and decorum to withstand the test of time.

If you ever have the chance, you should go visit and take the tour- it's only 7 dollars with your student id. I was sort of in love with my guide too, a little old lady with so much enthusiasm to share her knowledge and fun facts about the house. Then we went to go eat tacos. Yes, ladies and gentleman, today was a productive and educational Saturday morning.

Do you have a circle ruler?

Last night, a group of us were at school until 5 in the morning working on a mechanical project for our Materials & Methods class. It was pretty stressful trying to figure it out, but with some help from my dear friends, especially MB, I have managed to complete the exercise. Here are some pictures I took throughout the night:the beginning process of my mechanism

senioritis?

It's been a pretty unproductive week for me. I just didn't do that much work, and even missed a studio class, but I think I'm entitled to that as long as this doesn't happen again (at least not for a very long time). Well here's my work space at school:my organized chaos

I bought this bubble gum machine for $12 at a thrift store by my house. I sealed the bottom of the glass with plexi and silicone to make a fishbowl, and now, it is home to my beautiful schizophrenic goldfish. Meet Bingo, he's a chill, free-spirit, that likes to swim and dance in his free time, but sometimes thinks he's an old war veteran named Douglas and will get very crabby. Other times, he's convinced he is Mary-Kate Olsen. c'est la vie.
